When you are online and trying to find a product or a piece of information, just like everybody else, you use the search engines. You would type in whatever you are looking for, example “dresses”. The search engines would then look at all the websites on the internet that are related to dresses. It would generate a list of websites arranged according to the relevance of the site to the searched keyword.
Now, most people would only be interested in looking at the results on the first page of the search results. Only a few would bother to look at the second and third pages of the search results. As it is, more traffic would be received by the top three sites. The rest would have to make do with whatever traffic is left for them.
More traffic would mean more people visiting your site. And when more people go to your website, you have more chances of convincing people to buy your product or avail of your services or read any information that you have to share.
Have you checked where your site is on SERP? This stands for search engine results page. If you cannot find your site on the search results, you would better do some things about it. You would not want to be left behind by your competitors.
As a website owner (myself included), it is your goal to get your site on the first page. It would be so much better if you get the top spot. Do not worry; this can be achieved by using the proper SEO tools on your site.
